The Peters Township High School Troupe 185 has put together a new production for the upcoming season titled the “The Brothers Grim Spectaculathon.” This high-energy, fast paced comedy follows two narrators, sophomore Charlie A. and senior Kole M., as they attempt to retell the famous Brothers Grimm fairy tales. This production puts a modern, hilarious twist on the tales performed by talented actors and actresses.. The show is directed by English teachers Mrs. Duffy and Mrs. Barefoot who aim to give students an opportunity to have fun on stage and showcase their playful sides.
“I’m the role of Narrator 2 in this year’s production of the Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. My favorite scene in this play is probably the Cinderella scene, it is so funny and just really showcases what this show truly is.” said senior Kole M. “My overall favorite character is grandma, the actress plays her part very well and she is such a funny character.”
Mrs. Barefoot previously directed Game of Tiaras, another student-favorite filled with laughter and over-the-top drama. The Brothers Grimm show promises a similar vibe, less about Disney princesses and more about blending together fairy tale chaos in the most entertaining way possible. The directors enjoy blending together different characters and ideas to make the show come to life.
There are many behind the scenes roles that go into making sure the play runs smoothly, including manager positions.
“ I am in charge of ushers, the call boards, programs, and making sure everything runs smoothly in front of the house,” said senior Zac M..
No matter the role, every person plays an important part in a successful performance. With its mix of classic fairy tale storytelling and quick-witted humor, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for audiences of all ages.
